Leaving Netflix in October 2026: watch these before they go
October is a heavy month for the Netflix exit door. The first of the month alone clears out three dozen titles, and the departures keep coming right up to the last week. This is the full schedule, pulled from Netflix's Tudum page listing what leaves the US catalog in October 2026, published September 25, 2026.
Read it as a calendar, not a headline. Some of these are casual comfort rewatches you can catch any evening. A few are worth clearing your weekend for. We have flagged the priorities and grouped everything by its leaving date so you can plan a month of viewing and finish each title before the day it disappears.
One housekeeping note: Netflix lists each title under the date it leaves. Treat that date as your deadline and finish before it, whether the title is a two-hour film or a six-season series.

Leaving October 1: the big clear-out
This is the month's crowded doorway, and it holds most of what you will want to prioritize. Two Frances McDormand films leave the same day, and Netflix itself pairs them as a double feature: Fargo (1996), the Coen brothers' snowbound crime story, and Nomadland, her quiet road film. If you watch one thing off the entire October list, make it that pairing.
Comedy fans lose Clueless (1995), Amy Heckerling's high school reinvention of Jane Austen, which Netflix suggests watching back to back with High Fidelity, the record-store romance. Also going: Baby Mama and its animated counterpart in Netflix's own double bill, The Boss Baby. Identity Thief and Parenthood leave the same day.
The drama and thriller side is deep. Gone Girl and Queen & Slim both leave, along with Cinderella Man, Out of Africa, Apollo 13 (1995), U-571, Beginners, The Beguiled, Blue Is the Warmest Color, Savages, The Shack, The Vow (2012), Angel Eyes (2001), and Aloha. The two Ghostbusters films go together, the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016). Genre and family picks leaving the same day include The Fifth Element, Krampus, A Dog's Purpose, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. The two Hitman's Bodyguard films, The Hitman's Bodyguard and The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, exit as a set.
Also leaving October 1: A League of Their Own, The Lazarus Project, Inside Man: Most Wanted, and the two series Netflix lists with their season counts, Halo (Seasons 1-2) and The Parkers (Seasons 1-5). If you have been meaning to start any of these, the last days of September are your window.
Early October: single titles and long binges
The pace slows after the first, but the stakes get higher for anyone mid-binge. The Wandering Earth (2019), the Chinese science fiction spectacle Netflix describes as a planet-wide effort to find a new star while a collision with Jupiter looms, leaves October 2, a one-day gap after the big clear-out that is easy to miss. If it is on your list, treat it as part of the end-of-September rush rather than an October watch.
October 3 takes Dawson's Creek (Seasons 1-6). That is the full run of the Capeside teen drama, so if you want the complete Pacey-and-Joey arc, this is not a casual weekend project. Start now.
October 7 removes Nurse Jackie (Seasons 1-7), Edie Falco's whole run as the sharp, self-destructing ER nurse. October 8 is a double departure of very different moods: Poldark (Seasons 1-5), the Cornish period drama, and Scream. October 9 clears out After.
Mid-October: the Hunger Games weekend
Mark October 14. That is the day all five Hunger Games movies leave Netflix, as its Tudum page puts it. The set runs The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, with Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, and the prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
A full-saga rewatch is a real commitment, so give yourself the second week to get through it. Netflix's page lists the films in release order: The Hunger Games, then Catching Fire, then the two Mockingjay halves, and finally The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the prequel. Watching in that order saves the prequel's reveals for last. If you only have one night, the middle films carry the emotional weight of the arc.
The lighter departures follow close behind. October 11 takes A Quiet Place Part II, the near-silent survival thriller. October 15 removes The Smurfs 2 (2013), and October 16 takes Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins.
Late October: one last binge
The month closes quietly. October 29 removes Deadwind (Seasons 1-3, 2018), the Finnish crime series, and that is the last scheduled departure on Netflix's October list.
If you want to end the month with a full show rather than a single film, Deadwind is the pick. Netflix's card describes detective Sofia Karppi investigating the murder of a woman tied to a Helsinki construction company, just months after a loss of her own. Three seasons of Nordic procedural is enough to fill the final stretch, but leave yourself room to finish before the 29th.
A note on why any of this happens. Netflix's help center explains that it licenses TV shows and movies from studios around the world, and some titles leave because of licensing agreements. If a title is renewed, it stays. If it isn't, Netflix says it gives you a heads up before it goes. This list is that heads up.
