Who makes this, and how it gets paid for.
PickMyStream answers one question: where can I watch this tonight? This page explains who runs it, where the money comes from, and where every number comes from.
Who runs it
PickMyStream is published by Artists & Robots, an independent company. It is not owned by Spectrum, Charter, or any streaming service. The people who build it decide what goes on it.
How it is paid for
The site is free to use. When a reader clicks a Spectrum link here and then joins Spectrum or upgrades a plan, Spectrum pays PickMyStream a referral fee. That is the only revenue. There are no display ads and nothing is sold.
The fee does not change what the site shows. Which apps carry a title, what is leaving when, and how a show scores all come from the sources below and are shown the same way whether or not a Spectrum plan includes the app. Every Spectrum link on the site is marked as sponsored so search engines treat it that way too.
Where the data comes from
- TMDB
Titles, posters, cast, community ratings, and which US streaming apps carry each title. Observed daily.
- MDBList
Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, IMDb, and Letterboxd scores, shown side by side on title pages.
- TVmaze
Tonight’s network schedules and what is new on streaming today.
- TV Media
Channel lineups by zip code and provider for the Tonight page.
- What’s Leaving
Advance notice of titles leaving a service. Every date on Leaving soon links to its source.
- Spectrum
Plan names, prices, and included apps come from Spectrum’s published offers and carry Spectrum’s own disclaimers, word for word.
A figure never claims a period the data does not cover. When a source is down, the page says so instead of showing a stale number. Title pages with no US streaming availability are kept out of search results until one appears.
The concierge
The search box on Explore is an AI assistant. It only recommends titles it has looked up in the sources above, and it says so when it cannot find something. It does not invent release dates, availability, or reviews.
Something wrong?
If a date, price, or availability is off, the fastest fix is to tell us on the page where you saw it. Corrections are checked against the source and applied site-wide, not just to one page.
